How to Write a Professional Research Paper

How to Write a Professional Research Paper'How to write a professional research paper' is a question asked by a lot of undergraduate students at the university level who come from a number of different parts of the world. It seems that this question has to do with choosing the right academic writing paper that will earn your full degree or even your professional designation. The truth is that you can increase the actual quality of your final product by looking at your own area of expertise. Before you can begin the process of actually writing your document, you have to ask yourself what it is that you already know and what types of materials you can use for your paper. This is the first step to answering the question that you have when it comes to writing an appropriate academic research paper. It is true that many people are in the process of researching a specific topic and this is exactly why they are attempting to come up with a scientific explanation for the subject. This process is going to prove to be the most effective for you to approach this whole process. The reason why this will come in handy is that it gives you some tools and examples to follow as you work on writing your professional research paper. There are a lot of different kinds of written material that you can use when writing a research paper. This is not limited to just one type of writing because there are so many different types of literature that you can find on a variety of subjects. For example, if you choose to write a paper about political science you can look into biographies of political figures such as John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan. There are also a variety of history textbooks that you can look through. There are two types of writing that will allow you to make use of all of the books, biographies, and the other written documents that you have gathered when you start the process of actually writing a research paper. You can either use them to writeup a complete research paper t hat you can use for your class or you can use them to back up a specific point that you are trying to make. This is a great way to let the reader know what type of conclusion you want to come across. You can use your own background knowledge to back up your argument because this is something that is not completely out of the norm. For example, many people who make their living as consultants and as executives will often try to go back and rewrite past speeches that they have made to make certain points. It is very important to have your own personal opinion written up as part of your research paper. This is why writing a research paper is such a fun process because you get to show off your own unique point of view. This is why it is not considered a good idea to back up your own points with the opinions of others who have actually written those types of papers. When you write a research paper, it does not matter how professional or how well written the paper is, what is most important is that it helps the reader understand what you are trying to say. If you are able to do this with ease, then your job will be much easier.

My writing styles There are many writing styles that many people pick up as they go through there many years of schooling. Feminist Criticism of James Joyces the Boarding House

Feminist Criticism: The Boarding House Throughout James Joyce’s â€Å"The Boarding House†, women appear in stereotypical, subordinate roles. This may lead the reader to think that Joyce is an anti-feminist writer, however this is not the case. This work is an honest, insightful look at the role women played in turn of the century Ireland. Joyce carefully illustrates the plight of women in this setting and because he educates the audiences about the subservient role of women, he could be considered a pro-feminist writer. Joyce fights patriarchal society by using characters such as Mrs. Mooney and Polly Mooney. Joyce uses these characters to examine the unjust and exploitive circumstances surrounding women at this time, and to compare the†¦show more content†¦Ã¢â‚¬Å"At last, when she judged it to be the right moment, Mrs. Mooney intervened.† One could also argue that Mrs. Mooney was using her daughter as a sex object to attract young men to her boarding house. She would allow her daughter to fl irt with men and sing, â€Å"I’m a †¦naughty girl. You needn’t sham: You know I am.† Further evidence of this is that Mrs. Mooney is referred to as â€Å"The Madam,† a title given to a woman in charge of a brothel. This could also be another reason why Polly was taken out of her job as a typist. Mrs. Mooney would never prostitute her daughter, it is obvious that she cares too much for her but it is possible that she used Polly’s flirtatious habits to her own ends. However, unlike Mrs. Mooney, other mothers are described as accepting money in exchange for covering up an affair. This is one of the worst cases of objectification, as it compares a young woman’s honor to a sum of money. â€Å"Some mothers would be content to patch up such an affair for a sum of money.† This is an example of female subtext; unseen characters are treated worse than the main characters. Another example of female subtext is the servant, Mary. It is not re vealed whether she is married, but if she is not, then she leads the most tragic life of all the female characters in the story, as she would barely be able to provide a living forherself. This servant, like many house makers of this time is trapped in a prison of routine. The Developmental Stages Of Life - 1516 Words

I have learned a lot from taking this class. The biggest point I learned was probably all the developmental stages in life. It helped me to realize where I am in life and where I am headed. I also learned a lot about what seems to be the ideal age. Before this class, I never realized how prevalent ageism was in the media and in my everyday life. I feel that this class has helped me to be less judgmental to people of all age groups because I learned about the challenges they face. At this point in my life I would say that I am in the emerging adulthood stage, which is where I should be. As a child, I thought that at this age I would be more in the early adulthood stage, living on my own, going to school, and paying for my own things and†¦show more content†¦Society puts pressure on teens to grow up and decide what they want to do with their life, which is another factor that causes this identity crisis. Before this class, I thought that the ideal age was 18, and just finishing high school. I believed this because I felt that being 18 and out of high school was the last time I would be having fun with all of my friends together before everyone went to college, which I think is a common belief. This has changed because since then I realized I am actually closer with my friends because we don’t see each other everyday as we used to when we were in high school. Now I would say that the ideal age is 19 or 20, because I am learning more things I enjoy, and am developing closer relationships with friends. I feel that I have established my identity, and since I am almost 20, I am approaching the intimacy versus isolation stage, where I will either seek out another person to share my life with, or become lonely and isolated. To me, ageism is any type of discrimination towards a certain age group, and placing stereotypes that people should act a certain way because of their age. Age stereotyping was not something I was aware of before I took this class, but now I realize that I have stereotyped people based on their age a few times. A stereotype I had

Chase McCleary (1648 words) Essay Example For Students

Chase McCleary (1648 words) Essay Chase McClearyInstructor BeardsellENG 10110 November 2016Benefits of Clear-Cut LoggingLogging truly is the most ancient of civilized industries mankind has created. It is something of great prosperity and, now days, great controversy. However, that great controversy is only surrounding a certain type of logging, not logging in its entirety. The type of logging engulfed by criticism is called Clear-Cut logging. In this method a team of tree fallers and equipment operators systematically cut each tree out of a specific area, leaving short stumps and tree tops. When done poorly and or inconsiderably Clear-Cutting can cause deforestation; deforestation can cause habitat loss, extinction of animal species, and severe land hazards such as erosion and water contamination. When done correctly this technique of logging increases growth of possibly rare species of plants, manages wildlife populations, provides sustainable energy alternatives, and has huge revenue for workers in the industry, a s well as many natural products that our society needs today. Natural disasters often result in a young forest after several years have passed. Natural disasters, like wildfires and hurricanes, are unpredictable and can cause serious devastation to populated areas. A study conducted by a state funded organization says total costs of the average wildfire in America is $880 million CITATION Dia12 l 1033 (Diaz). Some wildfires are only contained, and not extinguished, for the purpose of clearing an old, dying, forest in hopes to grow a new young one. This can be extremely risky as the fire can spread due to wind or dry weather, causing said amounts of damage that total into the hundreds of billions. The most controllable way to trade in an old decrepit forest with a young, healthy, life bearing one is to Clear-Cut the forest. By doing this it does as a wildfire would, removing the trees, however, with exception of many other plants like flowers and types of shrubs. Some years later new trees will sprout and take foot in the now nutrient replenishe d soil. In the absence of overly dominant trees more delicate and rare species of trees and other plants can flourish abundantly. Many areas in the United States have either an over population of deer, which can cause disease, destroy gardens, and be a danger to road ways, or an over population of feral hogs, which can also spread disease, cause car accidents, and even become aggressive to humans and their pets or livestock. Our conservation department does a great job at managing species of animals so that they do not become a nuisance to society, however it isnt always enough. Texass government issued an article of the nuisances wild hogs and over abundant deer can cause. While not active predators, wild hogs may prey on fawns, young lambs, and kid goats. If the opportunity arises, they may also destroy and consume eggs of ground nesting birds, such as turkeys and quail. CITATION Tay15 l 1033 (Taylor). Extreme measures by hunters have been taken, to the point that there are nearly no restrictions on hog hunting. The one way we can truly push them away from our cities and towns is to clear cut the woods they r eside in and drive them to new homes. In this way we do not take their lives, but relocate them. As Clear-Cutting relocates wildlife, it will relocate our power consumption methods, at least enough to make a difference. According to the US Energy Information Administration, fossil fuels meet 81% of U.S. energy demand., says The Institute for Energy Research. The amount of crude oil we are harvesting from the earth could literally fill up rivers. Our fossil fuel consumption is so high it is burning holes in out ozone layer and is subsequently raising the earths average temperature. This global warming is causing our ice caps to melt at a much more increased rate, now becoming a detriment to many arctic species, like the Polar Bear and Penguin. Wood burning alternatives can save not only our ecosystem but our paychecks. A home with a wood stove heater, instead of common electrically generated heat, will save annually on average $64 to $255 according to a study done by House Logic. Alo ng with personal financial benefits, Clear-Cutting reaps economic benefits. Clear-Cutting helps circulate thousands of dollars weekly, which benefits our economy. One, possibly dead, White Oak tree in mid-Missouri can bring around $300 at a lumber mill. A large Hickory tree with dead, hanging limbs that could fall, could bring around $700 to mills that specialize in furnishings. With more logging taking place it would increase job outlook or the industry of forestry by the tens of thousands. This would provide incomes for many struggling families. Not only does loggings provide more job opportunities It allows land owners to make profit as well. A land owner will earn at least half of the profit a load of trees will bring in a mill or other buying platforms, which could total into the tens of thousands! Clear-Cutting on flat regions can provide the opportunity to start a crop field, which yields many food staples out society needs and, again, increases cash flow. After overhead expe nses are deducted, there is nothing but profit for everyone involved. A Career In The Culinary Arts Essay Pimm, Stuart. Women In The New York Navy Yard During Wwii Essays -

Women In The New York Navy Yard During Wwii Women In The New York Navy Yard During WWII Beginning with the aggressive recruiting methods utilized to bring them in, and ending with the return of men from the war especially veterans -, women became extremely active in the working force during World War II. This was evident at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, where four thousand and six hundred women were employed. Even though they remained employed for up to six months after the war, eventually men did return to their positions, leaving only women veterans still qualified to hold a position there. However, the focus of a speech on this matter by Dr. Sparr was the activity that occurred during these womens employment. A total of 71,000 were employed at this navy shipyard; but out of this total, only 4,600 were women. At no time did the total of women exceed 8% of the shipyards overall population. The shipyard itself was named the New York Navy Shipyard, however a campaign was started to change it to the Brooklyn Navy Shipyard due to its location. This shipyard was the worlds largest industrial employer. The Maine and Missouri were built there, and the Monitor ship was fitted there. Some of the buildings within the shipyard were ones that remained from the Civil War period. Prior to World War II, only 120 women were employed at the shipyard, and their sole occupation was to sow United State Flags. This would all change in 1942, when six million people entered the labor force during the war. The New York Navy Yard built fighting ships, which lead to the recruit of women to their work force. Women began committing to jobs where they welded and riveted. Women in overalls became the attractive ones, and the center of romanticism. The ideal employee at the shipyard was a single, older woman, who could work six days a week for duration of nine to ten hours. In the first class of women workers, twelve African-Americans resided among them. Among these twelve, one secured the highest civil service test score ever achieved, a score of 99. During their time at the New York Navy Yard, women received the same treatment as men. There were many female ship fitters. In May of 1943, there were 1,080 women welders. The shipyard once fused two destroyers that had many bad parts into one good ship. Accomplishments like this are what brought on their nickname, the Can do navy yard. During their reign at the shipyard, women had the lowest accident rate there. A clothing store solely for women was opened within the yard, as well as a Sears Shoes shop. The employees filled eight full cafeterias every day for meals. The yard also helped the Brooklyn economy greatly. VJ Day was in August of 1945, after which women were the first to depart the yard. Veterans were given the first choice of positions, and citizens who served were offered their jobs back as well since it was promised to them if they served. After 1946, no women worked in the yard, however they did feel empowerment while working there, but realized they were never meant t o be permanent. An overall assessment of the conditions and activities at the New York Navy Yard shows that women played a very important role there during wartime. Now, one can look back and realize it was inevitable that women would storm the working force, however as can be seen in this review, they were always forced to be quiet about things. For example, the way they allowed men to return to their jobs, and didnt really fight them. Atop this, they allowed them to regain their empowerment, and played a more submissive role in the family life. There is a lot of respect to be given to the women who were employed by the New York Navy Yard during World War II for their understanding, and hard work. As a footnote, the yard did close in 1966, still named New York Navy Yard as opposed to Brooklyn Navy Yard. History Essays

Health Fair Essays

Health Fair Essays Health Fair Paper Health Fair Paper It is true that not everything we learn comes from the four corners of the classroom. Just last week, we conducted a health fair to a nearby community, and it was both fun and a great learning experience for me. Both the seniors and the people in the community were benefited from the activity, as the health fair served as a tool for us senior students to learn and impart learning as well. I was personally moved by the health fair because the second Nursing Home/Independent living facility that we visited housed a mostly queer community. For me, it felt closer to home since I am gay. One of the benefits that we seniors got from the fair is when we were given a chance to teach the people about blood pressure, immunization, fall risks, and nutrition. For some, the ones who would benefit from this would be the people in the community, but for use seniors, we were able to interact with other people and teach them what we know. Somehow, this simulates the life outside school, wherein we would have to deal with different people and try to teach them technical concepts, where we should make sure that they are able to understand what we’re saying. This health fair actually prepares us for the things to come, and equips us with the experience of dealing with people in similar instances. On a more personal level, I was touched when a lesbian couple introduced themselves to me as â€Å"partners†. I thought, â€Å"Wait, do they mean lovers?† And yes they did. We talked a lot and out conversation included things about the health fair, and other personal matters. Standing on the same footing, we compared the opportunities that I have and the opportunities that they didn’t have. It was very relaxing to know that more people are open to these things nowadays as compared to how the society view people like us before. It was such a great experience, and I feel very satisfied because I was able to share some of the things that I know. I am also glad that I was able to interact with different kinds of people, something which I have to face after school. Personally and academically, the health fair was really satisfying for me.
